Hi. I hope someone can help me. I have a has water heater amd it seems to only work when it wants to. Regardless of amount of use some days I have got water and some days it runs out of hot water immediately even if it hasn't been used all day. And some days it runs out half way through a shower. I have already turned the temperature almost all the way up and nothing is helping. Is there a way too fix this or is it time for a replacement?
Had a repair done to my hot water heater. Russel Herd was the Service Tech sent to perform the repair. Mr. Herd was very professional, personable, and highly competent. He was on time and made sure I fully understood what he was doing and why before he started the job. He was not only thorough, but he also made sure he cleaned up after he was finished making sure my house was just as it was before he arrived. He did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend John Moore Services to anyone. Thank you Mr. Herd and John Moore Services.

At the top of each page we give you some quick evaluations of whether making a particular repair is really using common sense. In the end it needs to be your decision. After reviewing the information you feel comfortable making your own plumbing repair, go for it. Sometime you may need to buy a tool and some parts. Weigh those costs against the cost of a repairman. With a little determination you can save money and feel satisfied when you make your own home plumbing repair.
Bacteria have been shown to live in "premises plumbing systems". The latter refers to the "pipes and fixtures within a building that transport water to taps after it is delivered by the utility".[34] Community water systems have been known for centuries to spread waterborne diseases like typhoid and cholera, however "opportunistic premises plumbing pathogens" have been recognized only more recently; Legionella pneumophila discovered in 1976, Mycobacterium avium, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are the most commonly tracked bacteria, which people with depressed immunity can inhale or ingest and may become infected with.[35] These opportunistic pathogens can grow for example in faucets, shower heads, water heaters and along pipe walls. Reasons that favor their growth are "high surface-to-volume ratio, intermittent stagnation, low disinfectant residual, and warming cycles". A high surface-to-volume ratio, i.e. a relatively large surface area allows the bacteria to form a biofilm, which protects them from disinfection.[35]

All faucets and valves in your home should be regularly exercised to keep them from freezing in place. For instance, a single handle shower valve may become mineralized and calcified causing it to not function correctly when called upon. Just like you and me, regular exercise keeps our bodies functioning at a higher level than if we sat doing nothing every day. Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air can visit your home, check the valves throughout your home, and advise you of any options or possible repairs that need to be considered now or in the near future. An ounce of prevention can mean the difference between having a functioning shower valve in the spare bathroom when guests arrive or having to call a plumber.
PBT – flexible (usually gray or black) plastic pipe which is attached to barbed fittings and secured in place with a copper crimp ring. The primary manufacturer of PBT tubing and fittings was driven into bankruptcy by a class-action lawsuit over failures of this system.[citation needed] However, PB and PBT tubing has since returned to the market and codes, typically first for "exposed locations" such as risers.
If you turn on your bathroom or kitchen sink in the morning to find brown or rust-colored water coming out of your faucet, don't panic. The discoloration is most likely due to old iron pipes or recent use of a hydrant or water main that disturbed the usual flow of water. Keep your water running for a minute or so and it should run clear after a while.

“Don’t assume that every Mr. Fix-it advertising his services in the local Pennysaver or on Craigslist is a licensed plumber,” says one New York plumber. There is no national standard for issuing licenses. Some plumbers are licensed by the state, others by the counties they work in. Check with your local city hall or chamber of commerce. They should be able to direct you to the appropriate source for a list of licensed plumbers in your area.

“We had a toilet emergency one morning. After unsuccessful plunging efforts, we called Intelligent Service – and within 20 minutes, they were at our house. They found that the sewer line from our house to the street had snapped. Within 2 hours they had a permit and a backhoe in our front yard, and started work. By 5:00pm, we had water! They were extremely sympathetic to our situation. They were careful not to track snow and mud into the house. They cleaned up the area both inside and outside. Have already recommended the company to the many neighbors.”
Our sewer line was backed up. We called Pete and he scheduled a time to come that evening. He arrived on time, the work was thorough, and his prices reasonable. After the work was complete, he explained everything to us and told us exactly what to do to care for the pipes in our old home. We were very happy with his work and would highly recommend him!

We have an older home with old pipes that were not draining. When I called 3 Mountain plumbing I was immediately offered their special they offering. Derrick came to our door with a smile, a great attitude and explained everything as he did it. He was helpful and did a fantastic job of getting our pipes cleared. His friendly attitude made the whole experience great. Thank you

On 3/9 my husband attempted to put our “new” dishwasher in. Before we knew it we had a hot water gusher going in our kitchen that we could not stop. We called our usual plumber and he could not come for two days. So we looked online and called Pro-Service and spoke to Kelly. She listened and while she was locating someone to come help us she gave us advice on shutting down the gusher. She sent Tommy and kept us updated as to his timing which was very quick! He shut down the gusher and replace the broken valve so we asked him to come back and install the dishwasher. On 3/10 he returned and installed the dishwasher which was defective and showed us problem areas. He was quick and efficient and the price for both repairs was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company and its employees. I have already recommended them to my friends.

Gas water heaters have built in safety features that keep this from happening. The problem is that they 'Err' on the side of caution. See the articles on 'Pilot Lights' and 'Gas Water Heater Thermocouples' for some of the common failures.

My plumbing experience was  to have the plumbing  disconnected under the sink so the counter top and new sink could be installed.  I thought the service  of $115 was high, but usually if there is an additional fees, it is usually rolled into the cost of repairs or labor.  This company also charged 3.75 % for putting it on a credit card, which was not mentioned until I received the invoice in the mail after paying on the phone.
